Food security, production, and biodiversity

Report and Recommendations of the 9th Meeting of the High Level Group Biosphere and Economy Innovation, chaired by Mr Phil Hogan, former European Commissioner for Trade and Agriculture and Rural Development.

The main three areas of discussion were as follows, introduced by the respective Members:

• Food Security – A Global Problem – Overview of EU and International Organizations’ Perspectives by Adam Sebesta, research fellow, HLG

• Sustainable Food System Initiative and Food Security by Tassos Haniotis, Director, Strategy and Policy Analysis (ret.), DG Agri

• Food Production and Biodiversity (in view of Upcoming UN Biodiversity Conference (COP 15): Complex Linkages by Rob Alkemade, Prof. Dr., Environmental Systems Analysis, Wageningen University ESA.
